Travel Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care Unit

Title: Cross Train to Oncology Program

Contract Duration: 26 to 39 weeks with potential for permanent role.

Shift: D/N Rot/PCU/AO

Job Description:

• Rotating day and night shifts every 4 weeks.
• Mandatory availability for alternating weekend shifts.
• Flexibility to float to different units within same specialty.
• Nurse-to-patient ratios adjusted based on acuity.

Qualifications:

• Oncology preferred, NOT required - will train
• Familiarity with Pyxis medication system required.

Required Skills:

• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
• Competency in gastrointestinal care.
• Proficient in feeding tube care and management.
• Skilled in IV therapy and phlebotomy.
• Previous experience with blood product administration.
• Understanding of peripheral line care and management.
• Proficiency in starting IVs.
• Knowledge of Rapid Response Teams.

Preferred Experience: Previous experience in oncology, specifically in inpatient oncology and/or outpatient chemo infusion center.

Willingness to obtain chemo competency.

Access to resources for ONS Chemo certification course.

Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

RTO required with submission, must be built into contract

Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more; Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location
