Requirements

Experience

12 months of role experience is required from any number of months.

24 months of Post Anesthesia Care Unit experience is required from any number of months.

Experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

Scheduling: Expected to work every other weekend, every other holiday where applicable.

Block booking and Schedule patterns are based on department needs.

Guaranteed Hours: 40

Required skills and minimum years of experience: 2 years of PACU experience- Preferably Critical Care Experience

Shift or schedule requirements: Call shift requirements- 3 overnight call shifts in 6 weeks week plotter. No worked weekends. Work shifts vary 8 hours, 10 hrs, 12 hrs in length.

Floating to other units/departments: Do not float outside of recovery room area, only within our 5 PACU’s on site

Phase I Recovery Nurse to patient ratio: 1RN-2Patients

Phase 3 Recovery Nurse to patient ratio:1RN-3/4 Patients

Additional Comments:

 PACU at OSF cares for around 100 patients a day, fast paced, critical care environment.  Will regularly have 2 patients at a time phase I recovery.

Surgical Scrubs provided by the facility.

Unit/department specific training and orientation program: Acute level care- ICU equivalent. Will be orientated to main PACU areas.
