Travel experience is required.
22 months of Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit experience is required.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 36 months in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

If you have a multistate/compact nursing license, you will be required to complete a one time 6 hour suicide prevention training according to the WA state regulations.

RTO must be listed at time of submission.

All positions at Providence Health & Services require that any and all lab items requested during onboarding be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract - no exceptions. This means candidates must be responsive and willing to go to a lab to complete health orders ASAP after signing. Failure to comply may lead to a pushed start or cancellation as assessed by the facility.

The 26 weeks is flexible to any amount a traveler can commit to over 13 weeks.

Travelers are expected to be available to work at least 3 holidays out of the 5 ( Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas EVE, New Year's EVE, New Year's Day.

IF previous perm employees of ANY Providence affiliated facility must be separated from the health system for a min of 3 months to qualify for a travel position.

PATIENT DIAGNOSES: Cardiovascular disease, Pre/post Cath Lab and IR procedures, Fresh Open Heart Surgery

SPECIAL PROCEDURES:

  • CABG, OHS, AAA, Valvular Repairs
  • IABP, Impella, VAD's, Pacemakers, Epicardial Pacer Management
  • CRRT/Dialysis
  • Hemodynamic Monitoring
  • Breathing Treatments, Chest Tube Set-up/Care, CPAP/BiPap, Trach Care, Vents
  • High Frequency Vents, Procedure Sedation
  • RSI - Rapid Sequence Intubation Drugs
  • Blood/BloodProducts Administration
  • Cardioversion / Defibrillation, Colling/Warming
  • Obtain 12 Lead EKG

SCREEN if no IABP or Recovery of open hearts less 12 hours post-op, need fresh open heart experience - Unit has unseasoned staff so they need strong travelers

Cardiac Surgical experience is REQUIRED

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT:

  • heath removal
  • Vasopressors
  • Balloon - Maquet Datascope preferred
  • CVVH/Prismaflex - CRRT preferred
  • ECMO not required for Travelers IMPELLA - without
  • CVICU experience and open heart experience, as well a device or two (i.e. IABP, PrismFlex, Impella, ECMO, LVAD). preferred
  • CRRT Prismaflex required

SKILLS: IABP, fresh open heart required

Floating: All travelers are expected to float to another unit within their scop of practice if needed. The facility has a designated float team that floats first however, in the event there is a need at another campus travelers will float first before perm staff. All facilities are within a 40-mile radius or less. In the event that the traveler needs to float, it their responsibility to find transportation to the facility they’re floated to. Traveler’s refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours.

Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment.
