Requirements
Experience
36 months of role experience is required from any number of months.
24 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience is required from last 4 years.
Experience with Cerner is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
License

Guaranteed Hours 36

Self scheduling to some degree, manager has to balance out and make sure shifts are covered, schedules are made out 30-45 days in advance, they can take call if they want

Weekend Requirement: every other

Holidays: work into perm staff rotation

Floating: float to MedSurg or CCU rarely & only if desired. Will have to work both L&D & PP on unit - first to float

Unit: L&D, Well-Baby Nursery, Postpartum combined to form one unit

Beds: 10 beds

Ratios: L&D is usually 1 to 1-2, follow AWHONN guidelines, postpartum is 1 to 4 couplet care

Common diagnosis / Types of patients: on PP side they may occasionally get a post-op gyn surgery, also will see high risk deliveries, 35 weeks and above, drug babies that go through withdrawal protocol, twin deliveries

Certs: NCC certified inpatient OB (RNC-OB) ADV FHM

Additional Notes: must be comfortable running and managing delivery on own, must be teamwork oriented, candidates MUST have postpartum and L&D experience, they will not have to scrub in for c-sections, OR will cover this, they do about 30-40 deliveries per month
