Experience
22 months of Progressive Care Unit experience is required.
Experience with Epic is required.
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 36 months in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

If you have a multistate/compact nursing license, you will be required to complete a one time 6 hour suicide prevention training according to the WA state regulations.

RTO must be listed at time of submission.

All positions at Providence Health & Services require that any and all lab items requested during onboarding be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract - no exceptions. This means candidates must be responsive and willing to go to a lab to complete health orders ASAP after signing. Failure to comply may lead to a pushed start or cancellation as assessed by the facility.

If your traveler has worked for any Providence affiliated facility as a perm staff – they must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months to qualify for a travel contract. Swedish honors compact licenses.

FLOAT REQUIRED: IMCU/Tele/CDU

Patient Diagnosis:

  • Adult, Geriatric, General Respiratory Failure, Cardiac, Renal, CIWA, GI
  • Mixed Tele and IMCU on two floors, IMCU is on 3E and has 1:3 patient ratio, Tele is on 2E and has 1:4 patient ratio
  • IMCU LEVEL RNs for this PCU ONLY

Special Procedures/Unit Details:

  • MUST BE IMU Level RNs for this PCU.
  • Pre/Post cardiac cath
  • Bipap
  • Breathing Treatments
  • CPAP/BiPap
  • Cardioversion / Defibrillation
  • Cooling / Warming Blanket
  • Obtain 12 Lead EKG
  • Drains
  • Epidural Pumps, Feeding Tubes, Fistula, PCA Pumps
  • PICC/Central Lines, Port-A-Cath/Vascular Device Access/Care, Syringe Pumps, Triple Lumen Catheter, Wound Vac
  • Amiodarone, Antiarrhythmics, Anti seizure

Special Equipment:

  • BetaBlockers
  • Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine
  • Heparin, Insulin
  • Levophed, Magnesium Sulfate
  • Milrinone, Nitroglycerin, Norepinephrine

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Interpretation of dysrhythmias
  • Management of dysrhythmias
  • Blood product administration
  • Procedural sedation administration
  • Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac
  • Tracheostomy management

All candidates who were a previous perm employee of ANY Providence affiliated facility must be separated from the health system for a min of 3 months to qualify for a travel position. No exceptions.

Floating: All travelers are expected to float to another unit within their scop of practice if needed. The facility has a designated float team that floats first however, in the event there is a need at another campus travelers will float first before perm staff. All facilities are within a 40-mile radius or less. In the event that the traveler needs to float, it their responsibility to find transportation to the facility they’re floated to. Traveler’s refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours.

REFERENCES - Extremely important to have on file prior to submittal. MUST COVER 1 YEAR OF EMPLOYMENT within the last 3 years. The year does not have to be consecutive. Client will not give clearance without full year of references on file.

BLS and ACLS Must be AHA (Instructor, Provider, or RQI)
