Requirements
Experience
24 months of role experience is required.
12 months of Progressive Care Unit experience is required.
Experience with Epic is preferred.
References
Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 36 months in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Nebraska license or compact license

Guaranteed Hours 36 hours per week

    • RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated * *

Specific patient types/diagnoses - Oncology PCU and Trauma PCU

If they want specific oncology experience for this floor - chemotherapy certified would be nice but not required

What ratios do they run 1:4 PCU 1:5 med/surg its a mixed unit

More specific patient diagnoses commonly seen so we can ensure we are vetting candidates with appropriate experience oncology and trauma

Do travelers need specific oncology experience or is PCU experience okay? no PCU is fine

Are RNs required to titrate drips: insulin occasionally cardizem

Where will PCU- Oncology travelers float to med/surg and PCU units

How much orientation will they receive 2 days

Have they had EPIC w/in 6 months (not a deal breaker just need to know for orientation)

Have they worked for CHI or Dignity in any capacity

RTO needed upfront. Additional RTO will not be approved including after submission

Level of care: PCU and MedSurg

Patient population: Adults

Shift times: 7p-11p, 11p-7a, 7p-7a

Weekend requirements: Every third weekend

Self schedule

Scrubs: Navy Blue

Common Patient Diagnosis: Oncology

Common Drips/Medications: chemotherapy, heparin, cardizem, protonix

Required certs: If you hang chemo you need to be chemo certified but not required to work the floor

Other needed competencies: Ventilator, other hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, Aline, Swan, EV-1000), ICP- all can train real time

Specialty Equipment Available: Lyko lifts in even rooms. Other lift equipment available.
