Requirements

Experience

24 months of role experience is required.

24 months of Cardiac Transitional Care Unit experience is required.

Experience with Epic is required.

References

Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license

Certifications

BLS (Required)

ACLS (Required)

Vaccinations

Flu vaccination required. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Additional Details:

Previous perm staff must be gone for 2 years before they are eligible to return in a traveler capacity. No exceptions.

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

CVU/Stepdown

36 guaranteed hours

Weekends and holidays as scheduled

Post op cardiac catheterization patients or overflow cardiac observation bed patients from the ED.

Are RNs required to titrate drips? YES

Common titratable &/or set rate drips-Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone, Lose dose Dopamine

RNs are required to read strips.

Weekend Requirement-The unit will be open Monday through Friday, possibly open on Saturday 7A to 7P

Holiday Requirement-Rotational

Is there a call or standby requirement?-No

Floating Requirement-Floating will be required to Med-Surg units as needed

First day general hospital orientation; Full day of Nursing Orientation for RNs/LPNs; Computer training (1/2 day for C.N.As, full day for nurses); Two, 12 hour orientation shifts with a preceptor; Will receive an abbreviated Initial Skills Checklist due 90 days from start date.
