A minimum of 1 year acute care experience is required to work in acute care facilities. The following are considered acute care facilities: Hospital (General Acute Care as well as Psychiatric, Specialized and Rehabilitation Hospitals, and Long Term Acute Care or LTAC), and Ambulatory Care Facilities.

Required:
Graduate of an accredited program of Speech Language Pathology and holding a current Speech Pathologist license in the State of California.
Preferred:
Pediatric Experience
Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
On-Call: Once a month
Patient Types:
98% outpatient and 2% inpatient/acute
Outpatient: Approximately 60-70% pediatrics (all diagnoses and ages) and 30-40% adults (mostly post stroke or other neuro diagnoses). Usually 1 outpatient MBSS per week.
Inpatient: Very few patients; Most common diagnoses are acute stroke or other neuro conditions (all adults).
Rarely to never do we have pediatric patients for SLP in acute care.
Must be able to understand, read, write and speak English
