24 months of Telemetry Unit experience is required.
3 months of experience with Cerner is required.

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Level I trauma experience required

Candidate is required to pass DYS exam PRIOR to accepting. 2 attempts

DAY 1 PASS/FAIL SIMs Lab: All RNs will be expected to complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion & central line dressing changes, with the exception of NyICU & ED. NyICU only has to do Foley catheter insertion. ED does Foley catheter insertion but does port-a-cath insertion instead of central line dressing change. This is for travelers going to St. Joseph main campus &/or St. Joseph Westgate campus.

Must be able to Titrate drips, Amio, Cardizem, and Insulin Drips

Neuro experience highly preferred.

  • Charge Nurse: Yes, take light patient assignment.

  • Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts in 8 weeks.

  • Holidays: Worked into perm holiday rotation.

  • Scrub Color: Steel gray

  • Tele: Central monitoring. Must be able to interpret EKG

  • Floating: Float to tele units, tele overflow in ICU

  • Floor specific orientation: 2 days on the floor.

  • Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Trached patients, CVA, TBI, Spinal surgery, encephopathy, ESRD, psych issues, brain tumor.

  • Additional Notes: Heparin, Amio, Cardizem - titrated. LOS average 4-5 days. Fast paced, high turn around unit. Bedside report.
