Requirements
Experience
3 months of travel experience is required.
24 months of Progressive Care Unit experience is required.
Experience with Cerner is required.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

We have a Medical-Surgical Population with variety of diagnoses. We are the designated unit for Thoracic Surgery & average about 5-10 cases per week. Our other patients are usually medicine primary; often seeing GI bleeds, pneumonia, liver failure, CHF exacerbations, etc.

We take all thoracic surgery patients, Le Fort patients, and AAA repair patients.

COVID-19 - all travelers must be able and wiling to accept assignments that include COVID-19 patients

Skills Required: Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Interpretation and Management of dysrhythmias, Starting Ivs, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)

Skills Preferred: MS/Tele, IV insulin protocols

Certs Preferred: BSN

Teaching Hospital Experience Preferred

Modules are completed pre-start and potentially during orientation, and can vary by specialty

RTO - RTO must be on the submittal and cannot be changed once the profile has been sent to the manager for review. Please ensure all RTO is for the full 13 weeks for each submittal

Amount of RTO: Please, no more than 7 days of RTO per 13 week contract - highly preferred. No RTO the first two weeks of an assignment.

Return Staff Policy If a nurse has held previous employment with MedStar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler.
