Requirements
Experience
18 months of Progressive Care Unit experience is preferred.
3 months of experience with Epic is preferred.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Washington license or compact license

Vaccinations

Patient Types:

General PCU

Sepsis, pneumonia, DKA, DTs, Multi-system failure, spinal injuries, cardiac cath patients (TR Bands), general surgery patients, respiratory compromise, CHF, COPD, ETOH/CIWA – PCU travelers are not required to take vented patients

Stable Neuro Overflow (no devices)

Trauma Overflow

Cardiovascular Overflow

Skills required

PCU – PICC lines, Access ports, Cardiac rhythm interpretation, bipap management, IV medication titration, PCA’s, traches, chest tubes, general drains, ostomies, lumbar drains (rarely), PCU travelers are not required to take vented patients

Floating:

PCU: PCU, ACC (Neuro/Trauma PCU), Med/Surg, ED Holding

Scheduling:

You will be added to the existing schedule when you first arrive, and you will be plugged into whatever holes are existing in the schedule. Following that schedule, you will be placed in more of a pattern schedule on future schedules.

Time off: It is okay to approve up to 5 days off, but manager is required for more than 5 days.

No Call Required
