Requirements

Experience

12 months of role experience is required from any number of months.

12 months of Progressive Care Unit experience is required from any number of months.

BSN completion preferred

Experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 2 references from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

Candidates must have a Virginia license or compact license

Additional Details:

36 or 48 hour guarantee available

Cardiac Medical Stepdown Unit

Advanced Arrhythmia Exam required (Study guide available in Library)

Must be proficient in lab draws-no phlebotomist on unit

May float to ICU for SD holds, med surg, and ED for SD and lower holds

Required to work every other weekend and every other major holiday.

Patient Population: SD, cardiac, surgical, renal, End stage respiratory, continuous BiPAP

Skill Sets: Cardiac drips and titrations, BiPAP, insulin drips, cardiac rhythm

Equipment: Alaris pumps, BiPAP, PCA, GlucoStabilizer, bedside cardiac monitor, Hoyer and Sara Stedy lifts

Scrubs: Navy blue, white, or any combination of the two colors
