Previous perm staff must be gone for 2 years before they are eligible to return in a traveler capacity. No exceptions.
Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.
If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.
Roles requiring a state licensure only: Cannot have any licensure hits
Guaranteed 36 hours per week
All submittals must include an unexpired copy of the candidates drives license.
Ratios Typically 1:2. CRRT/Organ Donation 1:1. May have to stretch to 1:3 w/ overflow/stepdown. Average daily census = 13
Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Sepsis, PNA, COVID, CHF, COPD, DKA, OD, Renal Failure, Neurosurgeries - lumbar drains, Ventriculostomies, General Surgery, occasional MI, & Vascular patients
Must be competent w/ CRRT, IABP, Vents, post-code/therapeutic hypothermia & skilled with all vasoactive medications, sedation, & paralytics.
RNs required to titrate drips. All critical care gtts are titrated within ordered parameters. ICU RN's are also responsible for performing care/removal of Central lines, etc.
ICU Staff responsible for monitoring/interpretation/admitting to the system.
Weekend Requirement: EOW - Both Days & Nights could be either Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon depending on the needs of the unit
Holiday Requirement: Perm staff have a Holiday rotation schedule. If they can get by without travelers working weekends they will; however, if the needs of the unit require travelers to work weekends, this would be the expectation.
Call or standby requirement: Rare
Floating Requirements: Required to float to Stepdown & MedSurg as needed.
Scrub Color/Dress Code: Royal Blue - Scrub jackets are not required; however, if they wear a jacket it must be an actual scrub jacket. No hoodies or sweat-jackets.
Unit/Department specific orientation: 2 Shifts of general/floor orientation. Must complete EPIC education before starting on the floor. General education competencies must be completed before arrival to assignment.
