Requirements
Experience
24 months of role experience is required from any number of months.
Travel experience is required from any number of months.
36 months of Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit experience is required from any number of months.
Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Texas license or compact license

Candidates need to be flexible on scheduling - no self scheduling

Weekend Requirements every other may be occasional exceptions based on staffing needs

Holiday Requirements Holidays are usually covered but days before and after will be required occasional

Floating Requirements First to float to similar units

Busy/Large Level 1 Trauma

Beds 18

Nurse Patient Ratios 1:2, occasionally 1:1

Common diagnoses/Types of patients heart failure, STEMI, Pulmonary emboli, arrhythmias, MICU overflow

Experience or 'Must have' skills ventilators, managing pressors, hemodynamics (PAC, CVP, arterial lines) Sheaths, IABP, Impella, CRRT, occasionally paralyze and sedate patients - BIS & TOF

Successful placements here have worked in a very busy hospital in the past.

Are RNs required to titrate drips? yes - Common titratable &/or set rate drips Epinephrine, norepinephrine, vasopressin, dobutamine, milrinone, amiodarone, Cardene Giapresa occasionally

RNs interpret their own strips.

Scrub Color/Dress Code teal tops and bottoms, solid or coordination non terrycloth jackets
