Requirements
Experience
24 months of role experience is required from any number of months.
12 months of Intensive Care Unit experience is required from any number of months.
3 months of experience with Cerner is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

Housing in ME becomes more expensive in the summer months, beginning in May. Be sure to confirm you are comfortable with housing options before applying.

Roles requiring state licensure only: License should not expire within 45 days following start date.

Guaranteed Hours: 36

Patient Types:

-Vents, Sepsis, PNA, DKA, Detox, CHF, COPD exacerbation.

-Surgical complications: Total Joints (knees, hips, etc.), General Surgical, Appendicitis, Colectomies, Small Bowel Resection, Urology (Turps, Cystos).

-Patients with substance use disorder in addition to other medical issues.

-Pediatric patients that must stay overnight after surgery (Rare).

Skills required:

-Previous Charge RN experience highly preferred – manager is willing to accept travelers without this only if they are willing to be trained as Charge and to work in that capacity as needed during their contract.

-Chest tubes, traches, drains, wound vacs, IVs, PCAs, Epidurals (rare), CVP, A-Line care/blood draws

-Insulin gtts, Cardiac gtts

-Nursing must read and interpret strips for ICU and MSU.

Floating:

-May float to Med Surg to take a patient assignment (ratio 1:5 days & 1:6 nights)

-May float to ED to task/as helping hands

Scheduling:

-Weekend rotation: Every other; travel pairs are allowed to work the same weekend generally

-On Call: No call

-Holiday Expectations: yes, as needed

-Time Off: Seek manager approval
