Canadian Candidates: Required to have a US SSN to apply.
Cannot have any hits/suspensions on the license needed for the job.
Day/Evening position 2 - 8 hour shifts, 2- 12 hour shifts, unless previously agreed upon changes to schedule.
Holidays and every other weekend are expected
Will be trained to charge nurse responsibility.
There is a possibility of floating to like another unit (ARU - Inpatient Addition Rehab).
Uniform is Navy blue scrubs for RNs.
Blocked scheduling must be previously agreed upon.
Cannot approve weekends off without coverage unless specified within RDO.
One RN works in a charge nurse role, one RN in an Admission Nurse role and oversees all admissions for that shift, and another nurse (RN or LPN) does medications for all patients on their shift.
Usually it is an LPN, but if there is no LPN scheduled on the shift an RN will do the medications for all patients on the unit.
There are also 2 “float” positions
This position does rounds, takes vitals, passes out trays, provides patient care, facilitates groups, etc
All staff positions take patient load, can do patient groups, rounding, VS, etc. as well.
Patient population is acute psych presentations - depression, bipolar, schizophrenia, suicidal, homicidal, dual diagnosis.
We do not offer seclusion, restraints are a last resort when all other de-escalation techniques have failed.
