Requirements
Experience
24 months of Telemetry Unit experience is required.
3 months of experience with Cerner is required.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

Urology, Orthopedic, Bariatric, Surgical Patients (Colon Resection, Gallbladder), appendectomy, Medical patients (COPD, Pneumonia, Acute Renal Failure), Acute chest pain, Stroke, Covid

Some Cardiac overflow but will not manage cardiac drips

Heparin and Protonix drips only

Skills required:

Performs patient assessments, formulates nursing diagnoses, and develops/documents nursing care plans

Implements care plans and makes revision accordingly

Evaluates patient care outcomes

Accomplishes assigned aspects of the physician’s treatment plan

Collaborates with physicians and other members of the health care team

Performs clinical and technical patient care procedures, and assists physicians with treatments and procedures

Communicates with patients and oversees the provision of care for their personal needs

Provides patient and/or family with instruction and education relevant to patient’s condition

Documents nursing observations, assessment, medications, treatments and other care given

Oversees the patient care provided by Nursing Assistant

Floating: If yes, where? Between 5th and 6th floor – MED/Surg-Tele departments

Scheduling:

Required Weekend rotation: Every other weekend

On call? No

RTO: Manager approval required
