Requirements
Experience
24 months of Ambulatory Surgery Center experience is required.
3 months of experience with Epic is required.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Louisiana license or compact license

Additional Details:

All staff may be required to work during a hurricane with all necessary safety precautions in place. Please only submit if you are willing to provide care during hurricane season.

No block scheduling allowed.

Patient Diagnoses:Supports patients for all major surgical services.

Unit Supports all surgical/procedural populations with exception to patients requiring critical care services

Special Procedures/Unit Details:

  • Regional anesthesia
  • ECT
  • Nurses care for pre op, Phase I and Phase 2 recovery, pediatric and adult population. This department providers pre/post op care to patients in a total of 34 OR's on 2 floors. The 1st floor MHSC has 6 OR's, 2 cysto suites, a shared Pediatric GI/Lithotripsy room, as well as preps/recovers cases for CT/MRI. This section has high volume of pediatric patients. the 2nd floor surgery setting has 28 OR's and services cases from Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and pulmonary lab. Candidates should be prepared to care for patients of all ages in both pre op and phase 1 and phase 2 recovery.

Special Equipment: Hoyer lift Bladder scanner Accuvein

2-3 scheduled weekends per contract

Candidates must be comfortable working with peds

RTO must be on profile and brought up in the interview or there is a high chance offer's will be rescinded.

Orientation held 5 days a week

NURSYS Reports for RNs must be sent with profile. Please ensure that the NURSYS is up to date (within 4 weeks of submission date).

Resources who worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated from Ochsner Health System for 1 full year before they can return as travel.
