Requirements
Experience
24 months of role experience is required.
Travel experience is preferred.
12 months of Emergency Department experience is preferred.
References
Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 36 months in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a North Dakota license or compact license

Manager does the scheduling based on needs and staff availability, will try to accommodate block scheduling based on need.

Weekend Requirements: Every other

Holiday Requirements: Every other

Floating Requirements: rare ability to float due to census and staffing, to task/ or as helping hands - First to Float

  • Trauma Level: Level II
  • Beds/Trauma Bays: 21 including fast track
  • Do you have a Fast Track?: verticle flow has chairs, patients if stable go back to waiting room, and MD has orders in. Travelers utilized in verticle flow area
  • Do you have a separate Triage area?: yes, vitals etc. Usually core staff to do triage, travelers, after being there awhile, could take triage competencies to triage, if have previous experience.
  • Do you have a separate holding area in the ER or are ER holds intermixed w/in the ER? ER RN to take boarding patients, if stable go to vertical flow or more unstable keep close to nurses station.
  • Nurse Patient Ratios: 1:3-4 based on acuity, maybe 5 (if boarding and grouped together)
  • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: peds to geriatrics, traumas- allow travelers to take, CAH transfers, Stroke, STEMI, SOB, abdominal pain, etc.
  • Experience or 'Must have' skills: Prefer previous travel experience but open to first time travelers.
  • RN to read and interpret strips
