This contract requires strong cardiac experience
Will accept first time travelers if strong OR experience
All CVOR RNs/ORTs are expected to float to General Surgery
Patient Types:
CVOR: CABG, TAVR, VAT, Open thoracotomy, Valve repairs, Vascular surgeries (AV fistulas), fem pop bypass, AAA repair (open and endoscopic)
General: Neuro (EVD placement, shunts), Ortho (total joints, ORIF), Trauma (GSW, MVA), Emergency General (appys, torsions), GYN, GI, GU
Skills Required:
Scrub or/and Circulate
Neuro (Craniotomies), Ortho, heavy trauma (gunshot wounds, stabbings, motor vehicle crashes), and emergency general (appy, exploratory laparotomy, torsions, etc.), must be comfortable with blood administration (Belmont/Intraoperative blood salvage), assisting with arterial lines and wound vacs -- Preferred; day shift does not need all these experiences
General Surgery Robotics, General, Ortho – not must have all three but these are busy service lines (followed by Trauma and Neuro)
Robotic experience required - Gyn, General, urology. Robotics will be 12- hour shifts. Currently using XI machine.
No Transplants, Burns, Adult Ophthalmology
Peds not required, does not need to scrub
Scheduling:
10 or 12 hours - 0645-1715pm (10 hrs.) / 0645 am-1915 (12 hrs.)
Unable to meet scheduled hours, must be willing to add to the end of the assignment
On Call: Main OR Travelers will do Trauma Call
Traveler will be assigned to trauma call team unless strong CVOR or Pediatric skillset
Response Time: 30 mins
Heart Call Team: 1 shift a week and 1 weekend per 6-week schedule
1 nights a week (Mon-Thurs 1700-0700), 1 weekend (Friday 1500 - Monday 0700) every 6-week schedule
Pediatric Call Team: 1 shift a week and 1 weekend per 6-week schedule
1 night a week (Mon- Thurs 1700-0700) / 1 weekend (Friday 1700 - Monday 0700)
Trauma Call Team: Approximately 3 shifts per 6-week schedule (any days)
Either 0700 -1900 or 1900-0700
Orientation:
1- 2 days of general hospital orientation
One full shift on the unit
Following General Site Orientation, an assessment will be done to find if a few additional position-specific orientation days are necessary Traveler Telemetry Competency Required - Required to be completed and passed prior to start.
Scrubs: Provided
When cardiac is not doing cases, they would be performing cases in the main OR to fill their shifts.
