CSICU - Cardiovascular Surgical ICU float to MSNICU (Neuro experience preferred).
Guaranteed Hours: 36
Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity within the past year.
Candidates who were employed PRN through outside firms will be considered.
***Prior to acceptance, the Dys exam through RELIAS or UNA is required along with acceptance. Must be completed with 24-48 hours. It's pass or fail and they get 2 attempts (Test A should ne assigned first, Test B should be assigned for retake). A screenshot showing the number of attempts is required.
**We can accept the Relias Dys exam within the last 12mo if the traveler has previously taken.
If traveler fails the 2nd attempt, they will be made DNU for CommonSpirit AZ and Sac.
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holidays: Rotate in with core staff
Scrub Color: Navy - under shirts must be navy, white, or black. Scrub jackets are optional, must be navy.
Tele: Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.
Shift and Scheduling: Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it. Schedules are out 4 weeks. Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves "available" for extra shifts and make trades with other staff. Block scheduling is generally not available.
Floating: All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen.
Floor specific orientation: 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor.
Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Pre and fresh postop CABG (goal is extubation in 6hrs), LVADs, Empallas, IABP, TAVRs, CRRT (Next Stage), all critical drips, Swan monitoring. There are many pathway protocols in use.
Additional Notes: Travelers will not take LVADs.
