Guaranteed Hours: 48
2 years of ICU experience excluding travel experience is most preferred
Permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
Patient Types: Complex ICU patients ranging from surgical, medical, cardiac (preferred), neuro and trauma
Diagnoses include but are not limited to: ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, s/p cardiac cath, post-surgical, multiple system trauma – heavy trauma population
Cardiac experience is preferred (not required): CABG/TAVR – 24 to 48 hrs post op experience is preferred but not required for travelers
Will not take fresh open hearts unless they are experienced, and the facility felt comfortable with this – given to permanent staff
Required: Experience with the above-mentioned patients
Education Requirement: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing
Floating: ICU - qualified to float to ED
Floating: Not common unless overstaffed. Could float to any adult floor – including Medsurg/Tele with 1/4 ratio
Required: Experience with IV medications (vasopressors, sedation, paralytics), hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilator management, telemetry, strong critical thinking and assessment skills, working well in team setting, comfortable in fast pace setting with all critical patients.
Impella, IABP and CRRT – strongly preferred
Weekend rotation: Every other
On-call: No
