Experience

12 months of Emergency Department experience is required.

3 months of experience with Meditech is preferred.

References

Candidates must provide 2 references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a Louisiana license or compact license

Guaranteed Hours: 36

Will Accept a First-time traveler? Upon review.

Travelers must be separated for 1 year if previously a perm staff.

Patient Types: -Ages: Newborn – Geriatric -All ED patients – to include but not limited to: -MS patients – Respiratory Distress, Diabetics, GI bleeds, COPD, general MS -Stroke/NIHSS – Ischemic and Hemorrhagic -Some Cardiac – CHF, STEMI, dysrhythmias -Minor traumas – MVAs, Falls, etc -Psych/Mental Health/IVDA/ETOH -85-95 visits per day

Covid & PPE: Adequate PPE provided.

CPI or MOAB, either accepted.

Skills required: -Traveler will be required to PASS an EKG competency exam as part of compliance, prior to arrival (includes MedSurg RN). -IV starts, multitasking for multiple systems, continuous patient monitoring, ability to identify severity of patient and anticipate care for those patients.

Charting System/Equipment: -EMR: Meditech Expanse -IV Pumps: Alaris -Medication dispensing: Pyxis

Scheduling: Weekend rotation: every other

Will work 4 days one week and 3 days the next week – this is mandatory

Can we approve time off? Yes, up to 7 days

Holiday Expectations: will work Holidays – at least 2/4
