Experience

24 months of role experience is required.

12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience is required.

References

Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 36 months in order to be considered for this role

Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a Nebraska license or compact license

Guaranteed Hours: 36

Common diagnosis / Types of patients: MedSurg/Tele- joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbation, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, ortho trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, failure to thrive.

RN's are required to titrate drips: Heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine.

Common titratable &/or set rate drips: PCA pumps.

Tele techs will interpret, RNs should have some tele awareness.

Shift: Self Scheduling. 0630-1900, 1830-0700. Travelers will be scheduled. Will approve a limited amount of block scheduling.

Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend.

Holiday Requirements: 2-3 Holidays from Thanksgiving to New Years.

Floating Requirements: Yes to other medical surgical areas or units with MedSurg patients waiting for a MedSurg bed.

Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Serves patients of all cultures on this unit including Spanish, Karen, Burmese.

Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.

RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
