Facility Requirement:

  • Traveler’s permanent address must be 50 miles from assigned primary work site location.
  • Floating - Travelers are the first. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the traveler’s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.

Experience:

  • Pediatric ICU experience required.
  • Solid experience in PICU, and some CV ICU or cardiac step down or general cardiac experience required.
  • Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last three years.

Education: Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred.

Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation if parking onsite

RTO Requirements: Manager will review/approve during candidate review process. Generally, no more than 2 weeks off in a contract. If the request is more than 1 week and is consecutive (no hours in the week), Vaya will add 1 week at the end of the contract. Generally, all job postings will state that weekend rotations and some holidays will be required. Some units are stricter than others regarding holidays (ED allows for 1 holiday off).

Floating: Travelers are the first to float. The traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs. During the traveler’s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit to complete contract.

Minimum experience required: Inpatient RN travelers must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years. This is a hard requirement.

Orientation Schedule: UWH orientation is held every other week – typically on a Monday, but not all travelers will start on a Monday even if the contract has a Monday start. This is due to department specific orientation schedules. Travelers should follow the start date and time listed in their welcome letter and department schedule. Travelers will orient at 600 Highland Ave, room F8/170 (subject to change – traveler should follow instructions in welcome letter). Orientation is typically about one week.
