Requirements

24 months of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit experience is required.
Experience with Epic is preferred.

Additional Details:

Shift Information: Day/Night, with 2-3 weekends in each 6 week schedule. Flexibility is required per operational needs of department.

Guaranteed Hours: 36

Provide care for critically ill newborns, infants and their families across the continuum of care, from admission to discharge.

Provide care for infants requiring the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services, including a wide variety of medical and surgical complexities.

Experience: Level 4 NICU experience required, or level III that included some surgical and trach vent management

Experience with post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vents, various modes of invasive/noninvasive ventilation. Traveler must have completed two years in an acute care setting in addition to at least one year in a level IV NICU or level III NICU meeting above requirements.

Education: Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred.

Floating: Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the traveler's competency skills/experience. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the traveler’s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.

Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation

UW Health requires TWO TB SKIN TESTS (PPDs) for onboarding. BLOOD TESTS ARE NOT ACCEPTED 1st PPD must be uploaded NO later than one week prior to start date (and must be dated within 12 weeks prior to start date). 2nd PPD must be uploaded within 30 days from start date (please note- assignments may be terminated if traveler does not meet compliance within 30 days).
