Requirements
Experience
24 months of role experience is required from any number of months.
24 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience is required from last 4 years.
Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

Guaranteed 36 hours per week

Common diagnoses/Types of patients: This is a smaller facility, and you must be comfortable caring for patients without.

OB or OR in house. Nurses are not required to circulate or scrub. 2 OB nurses attend all c-sections to catch and care for baby. Must be comfortable with NRP. However, it does occasionally happen that the mother comes in progressing before the MD arrives. You must be confident and comfortable caring for the patient until the MD arrives. It would expect that you help setup the OR while waiting for the OR team. OR nurse circulates and OR CST available. They care for low risk 34 weeks and greater, no prenatal care, substance abuse mothers, pre-eclampsia, diabetic mothers and mothers with multiple co-morbidities, must be able to read strips, common drips mag, pit, No insulin drips. Nursery and postpartum.

Nurses are required to do some restocking. They have a separate area they care for hysters and peds along with other basic surgical patients. Sister campus Methodist Women's is 20 minutes away.

Must have experience in similar size facility, Must have nursery experience, Must be comfortable with No OB and OR in house, with a 30 minute response time.

RNs required to titrate drips

Weekend Requirements: Every 3rd

Holiday Requirements: Rotate with perm staff

Is there a call or standby requirement?: low census per traveler contract, can volunteer

Floating Requirements?: You can float to the medsurg side to care for peds or re-admission bil babies. If you have experience they will cross train to medsurg - Bonus but not required.
