12 months of Intensive Care Unit experience is required.
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

Every Other Weekend and Holiday

Must have Charge experience for this position!

  • Nurse/Patient Ratios: ICU 1:2, PCU 1:4, MedSurg 1:5

Common diagnoses: Heavy cath lab - Coronary angiograms & stenting, peripheral angiograms & stenting, sepsis, neurosurgery, drug & alcohol abuse, COPD, CHF, etc. ICU: occasional IABP, Impella (higher acuity typically go to core staff) Occasional peds - go to core staff.

experience: First time traveler okay. Prefer ICU background, otherwise must have PCU background. Must be able to titrate drips. Must be comfortable taking PCU (1:4) or MedSurg (1:5) patients - there are time that there are no 'ICU' patients on the floor.

RNs are required to be able to read the strips on the monitors when they assess the patient, but telemetry is always watching.

Weekend Requirements: At least every other, if not most all weekends

Holiday Requirements: Varies, but usually we will staff them into holidays, as needed.

Is there a call or standby requirement: No

Floating Requirements: No floating outside of this mixed unit.

Scrub Color: Royal blue scrubs.
