Additional Details:
Unit experience must include 12 continuous months.
Call requirements: A minimum of 2 weekends/month and 1-2 nights during the week
Associate’s Degree or Certificate in Radiography
American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Sonography R.T.(S)(ARRT) or registry eligible with successful completion of the registry within six months of employment required.
ARDMS - RVT, ARRT - RT(VS), or CCI - RVS required within six months of employment if performing peripheral vascular procedures required.
ARDMS (RDMS), post-primary sonography certification may include but not limited to Abdomen, Breast, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatric Sonography preferred.
The Ultrasound Technician is a graduate of an accredited AMA school.
The Ultrasound Technician is responsible for providing timely diagnostic services to both inpatient and outpatients under the direction of a Radiologist and departmental protocols.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to abdominal, pelvic, (gynecological & obstetrical), and transvaginal sonograms. Additionally, is proficient at scanning small parts (thyroid, breast & scrotom) along with ultrasound-guided biopsies, drainage, thoracentesis, paracentesis and aspirations.
