Required:
Level I or II trauma experience
Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler
Patient Types: Cardio and Thoracic surgeries – CABG, TAVR, Valve replacements, Thoracic cases (lobectomy, hernia repair), Generator exchanges, Lead extractions, Fem-pop bypass, open vascular cases, AAA, carotids, conversions
May float to Main OR and Central Sterile Processing
Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing
Required Skills: Strong CVOR background is needed across all specialties – ability to work independently with minimal guidance in the following cases: CABG, TAVR, Valve replacements, Thoracic cases are robotic (lobectomy, hernia repair), Generator exchanges, Lead extractions, Heart transplants, Fem-pop Bypass
Orientation: (5) 8-hour days
Scheduling:
8 or 10 hr. shifts – TBD during interview
Weekend Rotation: On-Call only
On-Call: One overnight per week 7p-7a and every 3rd weekend.
Ideally, 1-2 days/week (1500-0700); 1 weekend every 3rd Fri 1500-0700 Monday) -- This is subject to change as needs of the department change
Sleep room will be in Pre-Op/PACU area as it will be closed
