Experience

24 months of Emergency Department experience is required.

Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 36 months in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Certifications: NALS, CSSR-Certification on how to assess. This is something that can be obtained on line through "The Columbia Lighthouse Project"

  • Trauma Level: No trauma - we ship out STEMI/Stroke.

  • Do you have a Fast Track: No

  • Do you have a separate Triage area: No

  • Do you have a separate holding area in the ER: No holds

  • Do you have separate Psych/seclusion rooms: No

  • Is Security in-house 24/7: No security.

  • On average, how many patients do you treat in the ER/day: 15-20 per day.

  • Nurse:Patient Ratios: One RN and one CNA.

  • Common diagnoses: GI, cardiac, Pediatric injury/ illness, influenza/COVID, psych- young population of SI- those are shipped. They transfer out many patients.

  • Experience: Must have ED/MedSurg experience to float between the two.

  • Common Drips: Heparin, Dopamine, all cardiac drips.

  • ED Physician: Physician in ED at all times.

  • Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hour shifts 0645-715. Have a scheduler. They try to accommodate requests. May be filling in holes. Schedule is out 4 weeks at a time.

  • Weekend Requirements: Yes - as the needs arise.

  • Holiday Requirements: Yes - so the needs of the unit are met.

  • Is there call or a standby requirement: No

  • No OT or call/call back will be worked.

  • Floating Requirements: Yes - will be required to float to MS.

  • Scrub Color: None, hospital grade uniforms.

  • Department Specific Orientation: Yes one day paperwork and computer work. Two days orientation on the floor.
