24 months of role experience is required.
24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience is required.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

Candidates must have a Idaho license or compact license

Guaranteed Hours 36

Manager will make schedule, do try to block nights together. Staff are allowed to swap shifts.

Weekend Requirement: yes, minimum of 5 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule period, may be more if there is a need. Nights: Fri and Sat.

Holiday Requirement: yes if there is a need.

Is there Call or a Standby requirement: no

Floating Requirements: could float to L&D or ED for helping hands.

Beds: 10 can expand to 18.

Nurse Patient Ratios: Typically 1:4, average is 1:5 can go up to 1:6 on rare occasion.

Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Pediatrics to geriatrics. Typical MedSurg patients- pneumonia, CHF, COPD, hysterectomy, choles, appys; babies with elevated bilirubin, asthma exacerbation, and SWING bed patients (rehab).

Are RNs required to titrate drips: very rarely.

Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any scrub color and patterns are allowed. Scrubs are also provided but not required to be worn.
