Requirements

Experience

24 months of role experience is required from any number of months.

24 months of Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit experience is required from any number of months.

6 months of Trauma Level 1 facility is required from the last 3 years

3 months of experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role

Guaranteed 36 hours per week

4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks, 2 out of 3 major holidays

Candidate is required to pass DYS exam PRIOR to accepting. 2 attempts, if failed, DNU for 6 months with CS AZ and Sac Region

DAY 1 PASS FAIL SIMs Lab: All RNs will be expected to complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion & central line dressing changes, with the exception of NyICU & ED. NyICU only has to do Foley catheter insertion.

Holidays: Work into rotation.
Scrub Color: Navy

Strong IV skills required.

Float to other ICUs and all Tele units. patient ratio of 4:1 on tele. Travelers will float 1st before perm staff. Also required to float to Westgate if asked.
Floor specific orientation: 2 days on the floor.
Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Cardiac surgery recovery, Empallas, IABP, CRRT, lung transplant, thoracic, Ecmo, esophogectomy, lobectomy, pneumectomy, TAVR.
Additional Notes: Very high acuity, travelers with IABP and CABG experience can take patients. High number of bedside procedures, bronchs, Swans, epidurals.
