Previous perm staff must be gone for 2 years before they are eligible to return in a traveler capacity. No exceptions.
What units are included in the float pool: 3P, 4P, 5P, Joint Connection, psych, sometimes will float to PCU if travel nurse has experience or will care for boarded patients in the ER
Guaranteed Hours: 36
Block scheduling allowed as long as needs are met for the unit. Takes requests into consideration.
Weekend Requirement: Every other
Holiday Requirement : Rotation with core staff. If they have been there long enough she will see what the traveler worked the previous year and schedule off of that..

Nurse-Patient Ratio: 1/6 for M/S; 1/4 in PCU
Experience: Med-Surg, Telemetry, Critical Drips required; Chemo, Peritoneal Dialysis, Trach care preferred. Tele reading
Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Same as Med-Surg
Float Pool are used in Charge on Med-Surg units and typically have a patient assignment/House Supervisor on duty 24/7. Charge experience preferred. If they are interested in being charge, they will train. Try to give modified assignment when charge, if staffing allows.
Scrub Color/Dress Code: RN/LPN - Navy
Scrubs must be solid color, no embroidery and/or patterns on scrubs. WVU Medicine or solid color fleece zip-ups may be worn in grey, black, navy or royal blue. Solid undershirts may be worn in white, grey, or black in matching color to the scrub top. Closed toed shoes only. No crocs.
Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.
