Requirements

Experience

24 months of role experience is required.

12 months of travel experience is required.

24 months of Psychiatric Unit experience is required.

3 months of experience with Epic is preferred.

References

Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 24 months in order to be considered for this role

Candidates must provide 1 charge/lead reference from within the past 24 months in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

Seasonal Flu Vaccine is required if working during flu season (September 15-April 30th).

Must be fully vaccinated (exemptions are reviewed on a very limited basis).

No Block Scheduling for any Travelers at Salem.

Days/Eves/Nights Rotate and EOW - 40hrs.

Years of Experience Required: 2 years minimum of inpatient adult psych experience.

Skill Sets Required: Proficient in using automatic medication dispensing system (Omni Cell); proficient in electronic health records documentation.

Proficient in the use of psychotropic medications and side effects; Able to assume the role of charge nurse; Able to complete admissions and discharges; Competent in the use of IV pumps; Competent in care of a diabetic patient.

Patient Population: Adult 18 to 65 years of age.

Floating Required.

Rotating Shifts Required: Yes for Day Rotate, (7a-7p, 11a-11p, 7p-7a). No more than 2-3 shifts per time block and typically not for more than 1 or 2 time blocks (4 week blocks). Nights position does not rotate.

Certification in De-escalation.

Additional Information: AVADE training offered on-site as well as lead EKG training.

Knowledge of the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health rules and regulations.
