Requirements
Experience
18 months of role experience is required.
24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience is required.
Experience with Cerner is required.
References

Special Requirements: Required Work Setting Experience: Med/Surg. Required Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response Skills/Experience: Telemetry- remote monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams. Required Gastrointestinal Case Skills/Experience: Colostomy care, Feeding tube care and management. Required IV therapy/Phlebotomy Skills/Experience: Accessing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs.

Required Medication Experience: Heparin, Insulin, PCA. Required Neurological/Psychiatric Case Skills/Experience: CVA, Pre/Post Neuro Surgery, Spinal cord injuries, Traumatic Brain injury. Experience with Surgical drains required. Required Respiratory Case Skills/Experience: Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, CPAP/BiPAP, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Oral suctioning, Oxygen face masks, Portable Oxygen tank, Pre/Post Thoracic Surgery, Tracheostomy Management. Required Professional Knowledge and Skills: Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac. Continuous Bladder Irrigation experience required.

Teaching Hospital Experience Preferred. Trauma Level II Experience Preferred.

RTO – we can auto-approve 5 days of non holiday RTO or less. Anything more requires facility approval. Candidate MUST WORK 2 out of 3 major holidays.

BLS - RQI cards not accepted

Background Policy to be noted prior to submission so we can seek approval prior to offer

Any PERM or PRN employee of Memorial must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler

Modules:

  • Completed virtually on first day by EOD, then annually
  • Non-clinical hours do not vary; module hours may vary for clinical roles
