Experience
18 months of role experience is required.
18 months of Progressive Care Unit experience is required.
Experience with Cerner is preferred.
References

Special Requirements: Required Work Setting Experience: MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry. Required Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response Skills/Experience: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry -on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams.

Required Cardiovascular Case Skills/Experience: Post Cardiac Angiogram, Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery, TR Band. Required Gastrointestinal Case Skills/Experience: Feeding tube care and management.

Required Genitourinary/Renal Case Skills/Experience: Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure. Required IV therapy/Phlebotomy Skills/Experience: Accessing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Phlebotomy, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs.

Required Medication Experience/Skills: Heparin Protocols, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration, Manage Vasoactive drips-no titration, PCA, Procedural Sedation Administration, Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips. Surgical drain experience required. Required Respiratory Case Skills/Experience: Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, External CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of ABGs, Nasal Cannula, Oxygen face masks, Portable Oxygen tank, Non-invasive airway management, Tracheostomy Management. Required Professional Topics and Skills: Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac.

Code blue/rapid response experience preferred.

Scrub Color: Royal blue.

Parking Cost: parking permit required, no cost. Will fill out form during orientation

RTO – we can auto-approve 5 days of non holiday RTO or less. Anything more requires facility approval. Candidate MUST WORK 2 out of 3 major holidays.

Floating is 100% required of ALL TRAVELERS - Candidates will float within hospital or to an affiliate hospital/s near by

RQI cards not accepted

Background Policy to be noted prior to submission so we can seek approval prior to offer

Any PERM or PRN employee of Memorial must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler

Modules:

  • Non-billable up to 16 hours, after 16 hours modules are billable
  • Completed virtually on first day by EOD, then annually
  • Non-clinical hours do not vary; module hours may vary for clinical roles
