Requirements
Experience
Travel experience is required.
24 months of Progressive Care Unit experience is required.
Experience with Epic is required.
References
Candidates must provide 2 references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license

BLS (Required)
Vaccinations

Additional Details:

Upon receipt of an offer, you will be assigned Prophecy exams that must be taken immediately. If you fail the exam twice, this may result in an immediate cancellation by the facility.

36 guaranteed hours

3 out of 4 holidays and 6 weekend shifts within a 6 week schedule

Bed Count: 32-bed flex unit (intermediate and general)

Primary Population: Thoracotomies (lung surgeries), amputations, weight loss surgery, total joint replacement, spinal surgery, orthopedic trauma, abdominal surgeries, complicated appendix or gall bladder surgeries

Ortho experience

Nursing skills that will be utilized are:

  • Skeletal, bucks and cervical traction
  • Arterial and central lines
  • IV start skills
  • Peripheral and arterial lab draws
  • Various intravenous drips, e.g. cardiac, insulin, heparin
  • Cardiac monitoring
  • Assessment of lumbar drains
  • Wound vac dressing changes
  • Extensive wound management
  • Epidurals
  • Tracheostomy patients
  • Chest tubes
  • Surgical wound drains
