General Job duties. Types of procedures required: Standard RPN III duties/skills. Knowledgeable in surgical pre/postoperative care.
Required skills and minimum years of experience: Standard RPN III skills (at least 1-2 yrs. experience) in order to be proficient in duties and role as a registered nurse; strong work experience in pre/postoperative nursing i.e., abdominal surgeries, like lap chole/Appy, resections, and mastectomies, thyroidectomies, chest tubes, different drainages, etc. Also, orthopedic nursing, like hip/shoulder arthroplasties, etc.
Shift or schedule requirements: No 'on call' requirement. Must be able to work Shifts/Weekends. Must be flexible.
Floating to other units/departments: RNs are expected to float, if needed. Some units are: Medical, ER, pull nurse.
Dress Code:
Regular nursing uniforms. Clean/Neat with covered shoes, name badge. No excessive jewelry; No perfume/strong cologne. Fingernails should be short.
RN Travelers' orientation covers HR, EMR education with Pyxis, as well as other nursing education.
