RTO must be listed at time of submission.

All positions at Providence Health & Services require that any and all lab items requested during onboarding be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract - no exceptions. This means candidates must be responsive and willing to go to a lab to complete health orders ASAP after signing. Failure to comply may lead to a pushed start or cancellation as assessed by the facility.

Inpatient/Acute Care Speech Language Pathologist

Shift: 4x10s or 5x8s (flexible)

Skills REQ: Acute Care Experience, FEES, MBS-IMP

Is on-call REQ: No

Weekend REQ: Yes. Will include some/minimal weekends

Open to accommodating block schedule?: No

Guaranteed Hours: 70 Hours per 2 weeks - Traveler can be called off for 1, 10-hour shift per 2 weeks (or 1, 8-hour shift per 2 weeks depending on schedule)

Unit census is 50-70 patients daily, 5-6 SLPs scheduled weekdays and 3-4 on w/e's. FEES and MBS. All SLPs required to complete MBS-IMP. Patients don't have a lot of post-acute discharge facility options, often get stuck in the hospital so SLPs will be treating patients from ICU level to SNF/OP level. ICU rotation is not required and SLP will be assessed for clinical readiness to cover ICU.

Can only submit to 1 location within the region (PAMC, Seward, Valdez, Saint Elias Specialty Hospital, and Kodiak)

If traveler accepts hospital provided housing or rental car, they are not eligible for housing or rental car stipends

Return Staff Policy (6 months to return as traveler)

Facility only accepts Hep B vaccines and will not take titers or declination

  • Modules are completed pre-start, and annually
  • Time spent on modules is self-reported, completion is recorded in Workramp transcripts

BLS must be AHA (Instructor, Provider, or RQI) or “Heart&Stroke” certification from Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation ONLY.
