Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Common diagnosis / Types of patients: MedSurg/Tele- joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbation, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, ortho trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, failure to thrive
Are RN's required to titrate drips?: Heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine
Common titratable &/or set rate drips: PCA pumps
Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): Self scheduling. Travelers will be scheduled. Will approve a limited amount of block scheduling
Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirements: 2-3 Holidays from Thanksgiving to New Years.
Floating Requirements: Yes to other medical surgical areas or units with MedSurg patients waiting for a MedSurg bed
Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs Provided: RNs: Navy Blue
How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 2 days
Additional Notes: This unit typically has multiple discharged and admissions in one day- a nurse is successful on this unit when they can manage the business of the day, have good attendance, are a team player, friendly, compassionate, and cares about patients first. They serve patients of all cultures on this unit including Spanish, Karen, Burmeese
Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
