Additional Details:
Nurses Only (w/ compact license) - must complete a one-time 6-hour suicide prevention training during onboarding according to the WA state regulations.
Guaranteed 48 hours per week
Client will not accept any travelers with license hits dealing with diverting meds or endangerment - do not submit if you are aware of this. These hits will result in immediate contract cancellation.
Must be clear the Wednesday prior to start - no exceptions - or will be pushed back
Common diagnoses/Types of patients All general surgery patients, appendectomies, fractures, GI, Gyne, Vascular etc.
Not required to read strips but they do need to be able to recognize lethal rhythms and respond appropriately.
Weekend Requirement Every other weekend.
No Holiday Requirement
Call or standby requirement: No call time, may be put on standby if scheduled and not needed.
Floating Requirements: Travelers are first to float - may float to the other surgical units or other medsurg units. Rare need for team nursing in Covid Medical unit. May be floated to ED for holds. On average, house 20-30 medsurg patients in the ED daily.
Scrub Color/Dress Code: Royal Blue
Unit/Department specific orientation: 3 days total orientation. 1st day general orientation, then 1 day on General Surgery, 1 day on Ortho Spine.
