References

Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 36 months in order to be considered for this role

Guaranteed Hours 36

Shift or schedule requirements:

Variable schedule with days & nights
Weekends required, variety of rotating 8 or 12 hour shifts. No call. Will work with 2 or more RN’s on each shift.

Floating to over units/departments: Will float between med/surg and labor & delivery, newborn nursery

Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.: OB unit: 4 L&D rooms that convert into post-partum, Med/Surg: 19 beds

Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only): Med/Surg: Usually 1:4 or less but could be up to 1:5 on nights. L&D 1:1 for laboring mom

Types of procedures required: IV starts & infusions. Foley catheter insertions & care. Nasogastric tube insertions & care. Feeding tube infusions and care. Telemetry monitoring. Head to toe assessments for med/surg patients, labor & delivery patients, and newborns.

Required skills and minimum years of experience: Needs skills with IV starts, labor & delivery care, care of newborn, care of medical/surgical patients, care of swing bed (skilled) patients
