Requirements
Experience
12 months of Oncology Unit experience is required.
3 months of experience with Cerner is preferred.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Maine license or compact license

Additional Details:

26 weeks preferred, 13 accepted

Guaranteed Hours: 36

Must have ONS (Chemo Cert) to be considered.

Patient Types: -Any medical diagnosis except Cardiac could be seen on this unit.

-Traveler will routinely work on either Grant 5 or Grant 6 (same level of care spread across 2 separate units).

-Common diagnoses include but are not limited to: Stroke, COPD, Respiratory issues, GI Bleed, Renal Failure (AKI/CKD), Oncology, Electrolyte imbalance, altered mental status, weakness, non-operable fractures.

-Oncology/Neutropenic patients.

-Non-surgical unit.

Patient Ratios may vary based on patient acuity, tech support, insulin drips within assignment, etc.

Skills required: Previous charge experience highly preferred, please include if the traveler has charge experience or not in offer details and is willing to act as charge Trach care, Chest tube management, General Medical Surgical skills (wound care, IVABX, Drain/tube management, IV starts, central line management, etc.).

Experience with Insulin gtts & Heparin gtts- training available from charge and educator – does not require manager approval to offer but will be noted in the offer email for CRT if traveler has not done.

Charting System/Equipment: -Cerner -Alaris -Pyxis

Floating: -Traveler will routinely work on either Grant 5 or Grant 6 (same level of care spread across 2 separate units)

-Potential to float to any area with Med Surg patients (within or below scope)

Scheduling: Weekend rotation: every other

Holiday Expectations: manager approval

RTO: Manager approval

Scrub Color: Any color, must be professional.

Roles requiring state licensure only: License should not expire within 45 days following start date

Travel Pairs: If you are in a relationship, EMMC will not schedule you on the same days. If you are not in a relationship, you can be scheduled for the same days if not on the same shift/unit. Managers will not guarantee the same schedule for travel pairs.
