Requirements

Experience

24 months of role experience is required.

6 months of travel experience is required.

6 months of Neurologic Intensive Care Unit experience is required.

Experience with Cerner is required.

References

Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 36 months in order to be considered for this role

Guaranteed Hours 36

4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks, 2 out of 3 major holidays

Floating: Required to float between all ICU floors, and all Tele Units. Will get a patient load of 4:1 on tele. 1st to float

32 beds

Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Any patient that would qualify for critical care with a neuro diagnosis. Hospital does cranis, brain tumor removal and ablations, brain biopsies, complicated spine surgeries and scoliosis repair.

2 years ICU experience required in large (450+)

Must have level 1 trauma exp*

Must have EVD experience

Additional Notes: Must have strong neuro assessment skills and ICP monitoring experience.

Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance, traveler has 2 attempts

All RNs will be expected to complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion & central line dressing changes, with the exception of NyICU & ED.
