Requirements

Experience

12 months of role experience is required from any number of months.

24 months of Operating Room experience is required from any number of months.

BSN completion preferred

References

Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a District of Columbia license

Certifications

BLS (Required)

Vaccinations

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.

Block Schedules: No

On Call/Weekend Requirement: 1-2 calls per week, weekend included in rotation

Float Requirement: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity

Skills REQ: experience with appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair inguinal/umbilical, laparoscopic assisted procedures, scrub in general OR, whipple, and thyroidectomy partial/total

Accepts 1st time travelers

Scrubs Provided

Travelers are required to work a full GWW every week

Address must match DL when determining local status

Return Staff Policy If a nurse has held previous employment with Medstar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler.
