Requirements

Experience

12 months of role experience is required from any number of months.

24 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience is required from any number of months.

Experience with Meditech is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

Guaranteed Hours: 36

NMC tends to see a lot of high risk patients due to a high diabetic population. Will not perform inductions less than 39 weeks.

NMC follows AWHONN’s Standards for Professional Registered Nurse Staffing which is if patient is 6cm or greater dilated - 1:1 ratio; Magnesium drip or insulin drip - 1:1 ratio; otherwise all other will be 1:2 ratio. If there is a scheduled C-Section, the RN will follow that patient through entire care until sign off.

Certifications: AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification or equivalent.

Shift: Will work 3-4 (12 hour) weekend shifts on a 28 day schedule.

There is self-scheduling in Women’s Services and will be given to the staff first, then travelers. The Director and leaders will then balance the schedule based on experience and skill set.

Scrubs are provided for travelers working in L&D.

Orientation: Will accommodate start any day of the week. L&D will be provided 3-4 shifts of orientation on the unit prior to being assigned patients.
