Experience
12 months of role experience is required.
12 months of Progressive Care Unit experience is required.
Experience with Epic is preferred.
References

Additional Details:

Will accept 36 or 48 hour guarantees

Float to like/lower units, other PCU, SDU, IMC and lower levels of care.

Unit Specific Details:

  • 28 beds
  • Ratios 1:4-5. Typically try and staff 3 CNA's on days, 2 in the afternoon and 1 at night depending on availability. Try to keep charge nurse out of ratio on days but not always the case. Nights charge does take assignment. *All listed ratios are subject to change based on staffing availability at the facility. Ratios are never guaranteed but are what the unit typically attempts to achieve with normalized staffing.
  • Very high acuity ICU stepdown patients. We get a wide variety of patients, respiratory, renal, surgical, trauma.
  • Drips: Cardizem, Amio but no pressors. - Drips very few and far between
  • Airway: Vents/Trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow, Airvo

Education Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred)

6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred)

Need higher acuity experience.

Vent & Trach experience preferred, but not required - usually not given to travelers

Critical Care Course (preferred)

Dysrhythmia Exam Required (Study Guide Available)
