Recent experience at a level 1 trauma center is required.
No block scheduling
Going guarantee 36 hours / week.
Shifts 12 Hour AM-PM.
Shift Length 11 hours, 30 minutes.
Variable shifts Hours are 0700-1930 and 1100-2330, 36 hours per week.
The VAS Nurse performs IV starts, phlebotomies, and central line lab draws.
Experience with ultrasound-guided IV starts is preferred. Central line dressing changes, accessing and de-accessing implanted ports is also included in the duties.
VAS nurses also treat infiltrations and extravasation. VAS nurses give lidocaine, heparin, alteplase, and hyaluronidase. Not involved in infusions. Cares for patients ranging from newborn to elderly.
