Travel Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit

Additional Details:

Shift: (07:00 - 19:30); (19:00 - 07:30)

Weekends - variable based on unit needs

No set/blocked scheduling as that is not something we offer our permanent staff

Self-schedule requests - you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final schedule

First week of orientation is Mon - Fri dayshift. Second week is 36hrs of on-unit orientation with a preceptor

Patient Age group: Adults; Geriatrics

Patient Diagnoses:

• Surgical Oncology: breast, thyroid, melanoma • Hepatobiliary: liver, pancreas, spleen, biliary tract cancers, neuroendocrine • Colorectal: colon, rectal cancer • Plastics: reconstructive breast cancer or sarcoma

Special Procedures/Unit Details:

• Chemotherapy • Blood transfusions • IV Antibiotics • Oncologic emergencies • cytokine release syndrome • Insulin drips • Heparin drips • Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls

There is a strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start – no exceptions. Please screen for any candidate vacation time taking place immediately after booking as this will likely cause a push due to fingerprinting delays.

RTO required with submission, must be built into contract

Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more

Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location

Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
